CO2 Offset Trust (www.CO2offsettrust.org) Rotariens for CO2 Reduction
The CO2 Offset Trust is an International Rotary Club-to-Club Project administrated by several Rotary Clubs around the world.
The CO2 Offset Trust Web Site aims to do three things:
- to encourage 1.2 million Rotarians around the world - and the general public - to donate to a charitable Trust Fund, to compensate for their unavoidable CO2 emissions.
- to encourage 32,000 Rotary Clubs around the world to devise accredited CO2 reduction schemes, that can be awarded grants by the Trust Fund.
- to offer Rotary Clubs ideas on how their members can reduce energy-usage, thereby saving money and cutting CO2 emissions as a result.
The project IreduceCO2 is cooperating with the CO2 Offset Trust. It is planned to have joint activities in the future (e.g. common both at the 2009 Rotary International Convention in Birmingham).
